Henri Husson's career

Henri Husson (1852-1914) was an ironmonger, goldsmith and coppersmith from the Vosges. The son of a locksmith, he learned metalworking techniques at an early age. He produced his first pieces in total anonymity. The foundryman Adrien Hébrard encouraged him to make a name for himself in the 1900s. A butterfly collector, he drew much of his inspiration from nature to create his vases, bowls, boxes and other works in carefully selected metals.

Thanks to Hébrard, with whom he collaborated on certain projects, he exhibited his work at the Salon des Artistes français from 1901. An exhibition is dedicated to him on rue Royale.

Husson created a few pieces of jewelry at the end of his career, very few of which have yet been presented at auction.

Henri Husson's auction success

Henri Husson's works are distinguished by their exceptionality and by the blend of hand-crafted creation and precious metal work. Thanks to his creativity and expertise, he quickly made a name for himself. His creations are increasingly sought-after on the auction market.

Recognizing the artist's signature
