Pierre Lenordez's career

Pierre Lenordez (1814-1892) was a French sculptor born in Normandy.

Little is known about his personal life and career, nor about his training; we don't even know where he studied and learned sculpture.

It's clear that the artist specialized in depicting horses and riders - and was in demand for it.

He took on commissions to depict racehorses, such as the Count de Lagrange's horse. The sculptor was obviously close to the Société des Courses, which enabled him to find many clients.
