For any purchase via Drouot.com (automatic auction, live auction), your auction slip will be sent to you by email the day after the sale at the latest. The payment is made by phone by credit card or bank transfer.

Auctie's accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to a lot in the custody of Drouot, as the transfer of ownership takes place when the auctioneer pronounces the word "adjudicated".

If no specific instructions are given by the buyer (before or during the sale), all the lots (except the jewels which will be stored at the auction house) remaining in our possession on the evening of the sale at 7 pm will also be entrusted to the Drouot warehouse (for a handling fee and possibly storage fees from the 5th day after the sale).

Storage is free until the 15th day after the sale. After that, a storage fee of €3 excl. tax per lot per month will be charged before delivery.

Responsibility

As soon as the auction is announced, the lot is under the responsibility of its purchaser. If any damage occurs after the auction during handling, transport or shipping operations, the auction house is not liable.

FAQ

Are you new to auctions? We can answer all your questions.

  • What is an auction?

Auctions are the easiest way to buy and sell an object at the best price. Estimated by an auctioneer, it is at the end of a bidding battle that you buy or sell an object. The price is set by the buyers and their willingness to walk away with the item.

  • How to participate in the sale?

Sales are open to all! On the day of an auction, come to the Auctie's auction room at the Hôtel Drouot (Paris 9e) and make yourself comfortable. When it's time for the object you want most, simply signal to the auctioneer to place your bid. Don't delay too long, otherwise the auctioneer may award the lot to another bidder.

  • How to find out what's for sale?

By logging on to the Auctie's website, you can access the calendar of upcoming sales, consult the sale of your choice and click on "view catalogue". The list of items to be auctioned in that sale will then open. On the items of your choice, you will be able to place "buy orders", i.e. bids that are processed in your absence.

  • How to bid online?

You are not physically present, but you still want to bid? That's magic! The Internet allows you to follow the sale on live video, as if you were there. Access the auction catalogue on Drouot.com. Click on "Register for the sale" then register or log in to your Drouot.com account. When the sale starts, log on to Drouot.com, follow the live video and bid live!

  • Do I have to be physically present to participate in a sale?

If you want to participate in the auction without being present in the room, bid "on order": the auctioneer will place your bids for you up to the ceiling you have indicated beforehand. You can also bid while on the phone with a member of our team.

In both cases, send an email before the sale to contact@aucties.fr indicating your contact details, the lot(s) you are interested in and attach your bank details and identity card to your email. Indicate your maximum bid. Otherwise, you will be called back a few minutes before the sale to bid by phone.
