Artist Charline Von Heyl's style and technique   

Charline Von Heyl mainly produces paintings, using a variety of techniques (acrylics, oil paints, mixed media). She has no particular movement, but her works are influenced by several stylistic trends, notably Analytical Cubism.

Charline Von Heyl's career  

Charline von Heyl is a German artist born in 1960. She was born in Mainz, and studied painting in Düsseldorf and Hamburg. In the '80s, she took part in the Cologne art scene.

She now lives in New York, and her work has been exhibited all over the world. One of her paintings is in the permanent collection of the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris. Other works are in the permanent collections of the Hammer in Los Angeles and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, as well as in Chicago, Boston, Brussels and London. She is one of the most successful contemporary artists on the international scene, both with the general public and with bidders.

Her first solo exhibition took place in 2011 in Philadelphia. She has since gained international acclaim. She says she "[tries] to keep paintings before language. Or better still, before sentences. Her work is almost hermeneutic in approach, so the viewer's feeling and gaze count for a great deal in her production.
