His works and their market value
Francis Renaud is the creator of a rather hybrid body of work: inspired more by landscapes in his oil paintings, which are closer to Impressionism, he uses a variety of techniques and inspirations in his sculptures. The iconography of the butterfly is a recurring theme.
The life of Francis Renaud
Francis Renaud (1887 - 1973) was a French sculptor.
Born in Saint-Brieuc, he was interested in drawing from an early age, and took evening classes at a specialized school. After fighting for France in the First World War, he returned permanently to Brittany, where he preferred to work.
