Mersad Berber, little-known Bosnian painter 

Mersad Berber (1940 - 2012) was born in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.

He studied at and graduated from the Ljubjlana School of Fine Arts. Early in his career, he developed a system of cycles in his creative method, drawn from the medieval history of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

He combines old-fashioned iconography with more contemporary technical processes, producing a result that was unique for its time.

He was appointed Professor of Painting at the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts towards the middle of his career.
