The life of Mai Thu  

Mai Trung Thu, born November 10, 1906 in Kiêu Ky (Vietnam) and died October 10, 1980 in Paris (France), was a Vietnamese painter renowned for his delicate works on silk. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine, he blended Vietnamese artistic traditions with Western influences. His paintings often depict scenes of everyday Vietnamese life, portraits and landscapes, characterized by refinement and a subtle color palette. Emigrating to France in 1937, he continued his career there, exhibiting internationally and gaining recognition for his unique art. Considered a pioneer of modern Vietnamese art, Mai Thu has left a lasting and influential legacy.
