Style and technique of the artist Auguste Rubin
Auguste Rubin mastered the traditional techniques of sculpture: bronze and plaster, to produce a large number of sculptures in the stylistic vein of Bartholdi and Hippolyte Rubin (his masters) - working on the representation of Art Nouveau iconography, which makes up the majority of his work. He also produces preparatory drawings for his work in volume.

Auguste Rubin's career
Auguste Eugène Rubin (1941-1909) was a French sculptor born in Grenoble.
He was the younger brother of Hippolyte Rubin, also a sculptor, who taught him a few basics.
The sculptor does not appear to have attended a school - although he did learn from the artist Auguste Bartholdi.
He occupied three successive studios in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, and exhibited at the Salon from 1877, which enabled him to make his work better known.
His body of work includes a variety of Art Nouveau iconography, including wings (found, for example, at Agathon Léonard).
Auguste Rubin's imprint on his period
Some of Auguste Rubin's works can be seen in various cities in Europe and France, but relatively few: most of his work is in private collections. Lately, his market value has been rising, even if it's not very high.
Recognizing the artist's signature
Not all works by Auguste Rubin are signed, and different variants exist. That's why, if you think you own a work by or after the artist, it's essential to have it appraised by an expert who can authenticate it.
